Dr. Victoria Gnadt completed the Mixed Animal Acupuncture course at Chi University in Reddick, FL in December 2020. In this course she learned the fundamentals of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, equine and canine acupuncture points and how to use them, as well as how to prescribe Chinese Herbal Medications.
Completing this course allows any veterinarian to practice acupuncture but doesn’t give them a certification. Dr. Gnadt decided to continue her TCVM education and completed an acupuncture externship with Dr. Karen Spracklen in South Solon, Ohio in June 2021. Dr. Spracklen was in the first graduating class of the Chi University, teaches for the Chi University, and is a very accomplished TCVM practitioner. She was kind enough to share her time and knowledge teaching Dr. Gnadt new methods for choosing acupuncture points, as well as new ways to place needles, both as ways to achieve better treatment outcomes for patients.
Dr. Gnadt also completed a case report, demonstrating that she has successfully treated a patient with Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and has mastered the concepts and treatment modality. After finishing these requirements, the Chi University granted her a certification in veterinary acupuncture in October 2021.
